AT LEAST 140 Tarlaqueños are now part of the labor force when they were hired on-the-spot during the celebration of the 149th Araw ng Lalawigang Tarlac jobs fair held at Bulwagan ng Kanlahi last May 28.
Governor Susan Yap expressed her gratitude to all the companies that participated in the jobs fair as well as the government agencies that supported the activity.
“I thank the companies and the government agencies that participated in our jobs fair. We at the provincial government of Tarlac will continue to provide employment to Tarlaqueños,” the governor said.
Most of the hired Tarlaqueños will be employed as production workers for local retail stores and for overseas employment.
Sixty-six local and overseas agent companies from Tarlac, Pampanga, and Manila participated in the jobs fair.
Department of Labor and Employment Provincial [DOLE] Director of Tarlac Aurita Laxamana said in her speech that there are more than 3,000 local and 500 overseas job vacancies offered.
A total of 1,147 face-to-face job seekers while more than a hundred applied thru on-line services.
Public Employment Service Office head, Maria Lira Reyes said that the Social Security System, Philippine Statistic Authority, National Bureau of Investigation, Pag-Ibig Fund and the Technical Educations and Skills Development Authority were among the government agencies that participated in jobs fair’s caravan.—-PIO/Arnold B.
