THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region III commended and thanked the Provincial Government of Tarlac in a letter sent to Governor Susan Yap through DILG Provincial Director Armi Bactad, September 5.

The commendation refers to the result of the conducted Local Council for Protection of Children (LCPC) Regional Assessment made on August 15 by the Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (IAMTF) of DILG Region III where the province of Tarlac garnered a total weighted rating of 84.51% that translate to a functionality assessment of Ideal.
The LCPC is a council organized at the provincial, city, municipal and barangay levels that serves as the umbrella organization for all children’s concerns. It is a council fully harnessed to be an efficient and effective advocate of child’s rights that implements all children’s programs at the local levels.
The DILG facilitates and provides Technical Assistance in the organization of LCPC and spearheads the monitoring the functionality of LCPCs at all levels (DILG MCs 2002-121 and 2005-7)
The scores garnered by the province were computed based on the uploaded documents of the provincial LCPC.
Tarlac gained a final score of 9.71% under the Organization category (a raw score of 17), 28.80% under Policies and Plans for Children (a raw score of 48), 16.00% under the Budget for PCPC and 30% under the Service Delivery Monitoring and Management for Children.
The commendation letter was signed by DILG Regional Director Karl Caesar Rimando.
