Former San Manuel Mayor and incumbent Vice Mayor Benjamin “Bening” Tesoro succumbs to a heart attack evening of February 2. He was 70.

Tesoro, a Philippine Military Academy graduate, was elected mayor of San Manuel town in 2010 and served for three consecutive terms. He run and won as vice mayor in 2019 in tandem with his daughter, Mayor Donya Tesoro. He was seeking a reelection before his untimely demise.
In Mayor Tesoro’s Facebook post, she announced the passing of her father.
“It is with great sadness that I inform you that our Dad, former Mayor Bening Tesoro, passed away last night due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The viewing will be held tomorrow [February 4] until Saturday night [February 5]. On Sunday morning [February 6], Interment will follow immediately after a necrological service at the San Manuel Cultural Center and at Our Lady of Remedies Parish,” wrote Mayor Tesoro.
Immediately after the passing of Tesoro, condolences over Facebook and other social media sites poured in.
“Let us pray for his eternal repose. He will surely be missed,” ONE San Manuel wrote.
Menchu Mayrina Prado wrote “Thank you po sa legacy ninyo Sir, Vice Mayor Bening Tesoro.”
“Sir Bening Tesoro, you are leaving this world, but your legacy will remain forever…Thatn you for everything. Farewell,” wrote Tootsie Larioza Chuahong in her Facebook wall.
While The Our Lady of Remedies Parish-San Manuel, Tarlac posted, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Hon. Vice Mayor Benjamin “Bening” Tesoro.”
Governor Susan Yap, upon learning of Tesoro’s passing extended her condolences to the bereaved family.
