THE Provincial Government of Tarlac (PGT), through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), in its initiative to encourage local government units to come up with innovations in the field of environmental protection, named six Local Government Units (LGUs) as environmental champions in a ceremony held at the Tarlac Capitol Center Convention Hall on September 6.

Named municipal winners are Moncada (for first class municipality), Victoria (for 2nd to 3rd class) and Anao (for 4th to 5th class) while in the barangay level, Carabaoan and Sta. Monica in Moncada were named first and second place respectively with Cabaruan in Sta. Ignacia placed third.
In Governor Susan Yap’s message, she encouraged everyone to envision having a sustainable environment that could aid the province’s economy as it plays an important role in sustaining life.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Tarlac Provincial Office led by Director Armi Bactad extended its warmest congratulations to the following municipalities and barangays that meet the criteria for this year’s Clean and Green Project.
The Search for Environmental Champions of the Provincial Government of Tarlac aims to promote a green environment and to establish practical but efficient and sustainable solid waste management schemes in the community.
